Norovirus,Ìýalso known as the winter vomiting bug,Ìýis prevalent in our community, with the potential for patients to be admitted with symptoms of diarrhoea and /or vomiting. Norovirus can spread very quickly and cause significant disruption to the day-to-day management of our hospital’s wards and departments.
Ìý
We are asking for all of community’s support in helping to reduce the spread of this infection.
We ask that visitors don't come into hospital if they have had diarrhoea and/or vomiting in the last 48 hours. Our staff will ask visitors to wash their hands with soap and water when they come into a ward. Remember that alcohol gels have limited effectiveness against Norovirus.
Thank you for your support.
