The Pathology Department includes:

The walk-in service for Phlebotomy (blood tests) is open Monday to Friday from 8am until 5pm.

This is on a first come first served basis and during busy times there may be a substantial wait. Afternoons are generally a little quieter and you may have less time to wait. Please note that some patients may need to be prioritised based on their clinical need and will therefore wait for less time.

Unless pre-arranged with Pathology Reception, all patients attending for a blood test, or dropping off a sample, MUST have an appropriate request form.

Glucose tolerance tests (GTT) must be pre-booked by phoning 01722 429017.

Anticoagulation clinics are held in the Pathology Department on weekdays from 9.30am until 12 noon. Attendance must be booked in advance by calling 01722 429006. These clinics are for patients new to anti-coagulation or for patients who need to see the anticoagulant nurse.

Patients attending to have their International Normalized Ratio (INR) checked can use the walk-in service.
